2009 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients announced!
The 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award in Professional Achievement was awarded to: Rick Surkamer, Class of 1987, President and COO, SunTimes Media Group, for his many career achievements. Rick was touched that his brother Geoff nominated him. Geoff spoke of Rick's resilience as a leader in his field and in their family. Rick was very thankful and spoke enthusiastically about his time at LFGSM.
The 2009 Distinguished Alumni Award in Service Achievement was awarded to Steve Gadomski, Class of 2003, CEO VantagePoint Benefits Advisors and UEQuest, for his dedication and service to the School and fundraising efforts. Steve was nominated by fellow alum Pete Spinner, who mentioned what a great friend Steve has been. Steve humbly accepted the award and was thankful for being recognized for the work he has done for LFGSM.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented annually in each of two categories:
> Professional Achievement: Awarded to an alum whose professional achievements have distinguished themselves, benefited their communities, and brought credit to LFGSM.
> Service Achievement: Awarded to an alum who has demonstrated outstanding service to LFGSM.

Email the completed forms to AlumniRelations@lfgsm.edu by April 30, 2010. Award recipients will be honoered in a special pre graduation ceremony in June. Recipients will be announced on the LFGSM Web site, in the Stay Connected e-newsletter, and in Lake Effects.
Eligibility
- Nominated Alumni must have graduated before June 30, 2009
- Individuals can only win once every five years
- Alumni on the LFGSM staff, faculty, and Board of Directors are ineleigible. LFGSM staff and Board memebers are ineleibile to nominate alumni for this award.
