The LFGSM Enterprise Advancement team hosted the 2009 Distinguished Donor Breakfast on Wednesday, October 28, at the Lake Forest Campus.  The Distinguished Donor Breakfast is an annual event to honor LFGSM’s most loyal donors and those whose future gifts will benefit the school.

The program began with a welcome by Joan Steltmann, VP of Enterprise Advancement, and special acknowledgments by Joan Bailar, Chair, LFGSM Board of Directors.  This year’s key message, “Sustainability: Competitive Advantage or Just a Fad?” was delivered by Craig Raben, Class of 2003, former VP, Environmental Health and Safety Operations, Cardinal Health and LFGSM faculty member.

During his address, Craig noted all industries are impacted by an unsustainable path which constitutes a business issue that can be resolved by using common traits and experiences to develop innovative programs.  He used the examples from several companies that have implemented sustainable practices and highlighted LFGSM’s recent sustainability initiative made possible by a generous gift from Baxter International - a great example of the power of philanthropy in action.
