Bruce McGillivray, Class of 2011
Corporate Vice President and President, Global Renal, Baxter International Inc.
Mr. McGillivray is a corporate vice president of Baxter International and president of the company’s $2.2 billion Global Renal business that provides products to treat end-stage renal disease, or irreversible kidney failure. It is a leading manufacturer of products for peritoneal dialysis (PD), a home therapy Baxter introduced 30 years ago. Products include PD solutions and automated cyclers that provide therapy overnight. The business also distributes products for hemodialysis (HD) a therapy that generally takes place in a hospital or clinic.
Before assuming his current position in 2004, Mr. McGillivray was president of Baxter’s Renal business in Europe.
A native of Canada, Mr. McGillivray began his career at Baxter in 1980 as a sales representative in Toronto for the company’s Hospital Division. He worked his way up through positions of increasing responsibility in sales management until his appointment as vice president of the Hospital Division in 1988. He became president of Baxter Canada in 1997 and held that position until becoming president of Renal Europe in 2002.
Mr. McGillivray was elected to the Board of Directors of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in February 2006.
