David M. McDonough (Board Vice-Chair), Class of 2011
President and CEO, Trustmark Companies
Mr. McDonough joined Trustmark in 2002 as President and COO and was named Chief Executive Officer in March 2005. Trustmark is a leading insurer licensed nationwide to offer a full line of medical, managed care, life, dental, critical illness, and disability insurance products to employer groups and the voluntary benefits market. Its CoreSource subsidiary is a leading medical benefits administrator providing services to mid-sized and larger self-insured employers. Trustmark has assets of $1.9 billion and provides benefits to two million covered lives.
Prior to joining Trustmark, Mr. McDonough was Executive Vice President and COO of Fortis Health for five years. From 1995 to 1997 he served as Sr. Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Providian Corporation, a financial services and insurance company. He joined the firm in 1991 as VP, Corporate Strategic Planning.
Prior experience includes service as a consultant and partner of a small promotional marketing company; VP, New Product Development of Heublein, Inc.; and Regional Economist at Hartford Insurance Group.
Mr. McDonough is a member of the Boards of Directors of The Trustmark Companies and the Illinois Life Insurance Council. From 1999 - 2002 he served on the Board of the Milwaukee Redevelopment Council.
He was elected to the Board of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2005.
