Mr. Shaffer has been a partner in the Forensic & Dispute Services practice of Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP Chicago office since 2001. His primary focus is on Forensic Accounting Investigations.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Scott was the partner in charge of the Litigation Support and Business Valuation Group at Klayman and Korman, LLC.
Mr. Shaffer has over 29 years of experience in public accounting, including work in forensic accounting, reconstruction of books and records, corporate investigations, financial statement restatements and fraud examinations.
He has provided expert witness testimony for depositions, trials and arbitrations and has assisted legal counsel in mediation settlements.
He has served clients in a variety of industries, including real estate, manufacturing, construction, health care, financial services, professional services, gaming, insurance, not-for-profit and governmental.
Mr. Shaffer is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
He is a published author and has been a panel speaker at a number of forums, including “Internal Investigations” at Foley and Larder’s National Directors Institute in March 2008 and “Due Diligence and Forensic Accounting” at the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business Finance Roundtable in March 2004.
He was elected to the Board of Directors of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2008.
