Arlene J. Mayzel

Vice President & Dean – Degree Programs

Ms. Mayzel joined the staff of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in January 1997. Prior to her promotion to Vice President & Dean – Degree Programs, she held three Associate Dean positions at the school and most recently served as Dean - MBA Program.

As Vice President & Dean – Degree Programs, she is responsible for the academic leadership of all degree programs, including ensuring the academic quality and continuous improvement of LFGSM’s MBA program. She oversees faculty, curricula, assessment of student learning, academic operations, student life and the registrar function.

Ms. Mayzel acts as the lead public academic representative for the School and actively monitors the business and educational environments. LFGSM meets its Higher Learning Commission accreditation requirements by participating in the Academic Quality Improvement Program. Ms. Mayzel leads this initiative dedicated to organizational continuous improvement.

From 1997 – 2005, she was a member of LFGSM’s faculty and continues to play an active role in the classroom. Ms. Mayzel has over 25 years of  experience in higher education.

Prior to joining LFGSM, she served as a tenured faculty member at Rosary College, now known as Dominican University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and marketing. She chaired the Department of Economics, Business and Political Science and was the recipient of the Sears Excellence in Teaching and Campus Leadership award.

Throughout her academic career, Ms. Mayzel held various positions in public accounting.  Ms. Mayzel is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

She serves as an internal coach and is a Menttium 100 mentor.
